Job Overview

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Adult Med/Surg Float Pool at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center – West Bank Campus in Minneapolis, MN.

The Adult Med/Surg Float Pool RN will provide care to medical surgical adult patients with medical conditions that require close observation, monitoring, and interventions.

This unique department is a specialty group comprised of dedicated nurses that support patient care throughout the hospital.

We are conveniently located on the West Bank of the Mississippi River near downtown Minneapolis. .

Schedule

This position will be working 0.7 FTE (56 hours every two weeks). The shift length will be 8 hours on the evening shift with an every other weekend rotation (F,S,S) and a holiday rotation.

The RN is responsible and accountable for patient assessment, analysis, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention application, and the identification and evaluation of outcomes for patients of all ages and populations. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act: Providing care in an empathetic, equal opportunity manner that is crucial to patients and family’s diversity, preserving their autonomy, dignity, and rights. Conducting ongoing assessments as determined by patient’s condition and/or the hospital policies, procedures or protocols and prioritizes care accordingly. Establishing and implementing nursing care plans for each patient through assessment, development, activation, evaluation, and discharge. Prioritizing, delegating, and maintaining oversight of duties and responsibilities of other staff members as a team leader. Maintaining confidentiality in matters related to patient, family, and facility. Demonstrating the ability to deliver care or service by adjusting approaches to reflect developmental level and cultural differences of population served. Collaborating with patients, families, and health care team members. Required Qualifications: Associate Degree in Nursing Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Valid RN License from MN Board of Nursing

Preferred Qualifications

Requirements

Candidates must hold an Associate Degree in Nursing, a valid Minnesota RN license, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least one year of experience in telemetry, emergency, or progressive care settings.
