About the role

Pay for this role is about 6% below the Town of Colonie, New York median for support services roles.

The Medical Assistant will document patient information, manage patient flow, and prepare patients for examinations. They will also perform clinical procedures such as EKG and PFT, collect specimens, and assist providers with treatments.

Our Float Pool is looking for a Medical Assistant to join their team! The hours are: Flexible 4 to 8 hour shifts Monday - Friday typically between 8am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities

  • Document verbal conversations and information into the patient records in an accurate, legible and timely manner.
  • Maintain timely patient flow.
  • Prepare patient for visit as appropriate, based on office/provider requirements.
  • Obtain specimens (i.e., urine, blood, etc.) from patients as directed by the provider.
  • Accurate and timely order entry into the lab system.
  • Perform clinical office procedures as directed by the provider (i.e. EKG, PFT, etc.).
  • Assist providers with examinations, diagnostic procedures, and treatments.

Compensation

$17.00 - $22.00 per hour

CCP salary ranges are designed to be competitive with room for professional and financial growth. Individual compensation is based on several factors unique to each candidate, such as work experience, qualifications, and skills. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Previous medical/clinical experience preferred.
  • Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
  • Previous phlebotomy experience is preferred.
  • Ability to use interpersonal skills to establish/maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, members, physicians/providers, managers, co-workers, and external customers.
  • Maintain strictest confidentiality and discretion.
  • Knowledge of medical chart reporting/records.
  • Experience with Allscripts is a plus!

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and reliable transportation to travel between locations. Previous clinical or phlebotomy experience and a Medical Assistant certification are preferred.
