If you're looking for flexible scheduling while utilizing advanced technical skills in a fast-paced emergency environment, we'd love to meet you. Whether you're seeking supplemental hours, a part-time schedule, or per diem opportunities, you'll work alongside an experienced emergency team dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care while supporting one another every step of the way. Compensation $20.00-$32.00/hour based on experience and applicable licensure Additional overnight shift differentials available Schedule Part-Time or Per Diem Flexible scheduling based on hospital needs Overnight opportunities available Weekend and holiday availability preferred

Responsibilities

Triage incoming emergency patients using sound clinical judgment. Perform physical assessments and monitor hospitalized patients. Administer subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intravenous medications while recognizing potential adverse effects. Set up, monitor, and manage intravenous fluid therapy, constant rate infusions, and blood transfusions. Perform advanced technical procedures including venipuncture, catheter placement, ultrasonography assistance, paracentesis, and laboratory sample collection. Collect diagnostic samples and perform in-house laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging. Provide comprehensive nursing care, including urinary catheter management, nasogastric tube placement, oxygen therapy, chest tube management, and advanced patient monitoring. Assist with anesthesia induction, monitoring, recovery, and mechanical ventilation for high-risk patients. Perform advanced vascular access techniques, including jugular, central, arterial, and intraosseous catheter placement. Participate in patient rounds to ensure continuity of care. Maintain accurate medical records and communicate effectively with veterinarians and team members. Deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care while supporting clients during emergency situations.

Qualifications

Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) required Minimum of 2 years of Veterinary Technician experience, preferably in Emergency Medicine Strong knowledge of emergency patient care, restraint, anesthesia, phlebotomy, laboratory procedures, pharmacology, and diagnostic imaging Experience with emergency triage and critical patient monitoring preferred Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced emergency environment Strong attention to detail and commitment to exceptional patient care Fluent English speaking and reading skills required Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus About the Hospital Animal ER of University Park is a growing 24-hour emergency hospital dedicated to providing exceptional emergency and critical care for pets throughout Florida's Gulf Coast. Requirements
