Assists radiologists during interventional procedures and performs diagnostic imaging while ensuring patient safety and radiation protection. Manages patient documentation, inventory, and scheduling within the interventional radiology department.
Assists physicians in interventional procedures and takes x-rays and angiographs as ordered by referring physicians under state and registry guidelines.
1. Takes quality diagnostic images. Verifies physicians orders, enters patient's demographics and evaluates film. 2. Assists/scrubs with radiologist utilizing universal precautions at all times. 3. Explains procedure to patient and answers any questions. 4. Administers and records isotope dosage in accordance with established departmental protocol. 5. Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity. Ensures radiation protection for patient. 6. Orders supplies/inventory. Stocks all supplies on a daily basis. 7. Charts patients accounts accurately. 8. Accurately schedules Interventional Procedures. 9. Monitors radiographic quality for optimum diagnosis ensuring all films have the proper identification. 10. Performs all CME functions prior to submitting case for dictation. 11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 12. Performs other duties as assigned. Education Skills Experience: Required: Minimum Experience: three years Desired: BLS and ACLS. Other Information: Required: Minimum Experience: three years Desired: BLS and ACLS. Working Conditions: Manual: significant manual skills/motor coord & finger dexterity Occupational: Significant occupational risk Physical Effort: Very Heavy effort.
