About the role

The Research Coordinator will support funded research projects by managing daily activities, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating research subjects. They will also serve as a liaison with the Human Research Protection Office and maintain accurate recordkeeping and data management systems.

Position Summary

The Obstetrics & Gynecology Research Division is in need of a 1.0 FTE Research Coordinator position. The Research Coordinator position will exist in order to support funded research projects within the department of Ob/Gyn. This position will assist in the coordination and administration of daily research activities and ensure that study protocols and regulatory requirements are compliant. This position will be involved in the recruitment and coordination of research subjects for multiple research grants, primarily in Maternal Fetal Medicine and will serve as the lead coordinator for these projects. This person will assist in managing Human Research Protection Office (HRPO) study submissions and modifications and serve as a liaison with the HRPO staff. The Research Coordinator will maintain recordkeeping systems, patient schedules and appointments and be involved in data collection and management. This position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of organizations in a diverse community. It will require, skills in organizing resources, multi-tasking and establishing priorities. It will require the ability to analyze, develop, establish and maintain efficient office work flow and administrative processes.

Conditions of Employment

Successful candidate must submit to a post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check. Additional health screenings may be required, dependent on the nature of the research conducted, as determined by Employee Occupational Health Services. Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement. All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the US-UNM Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; at least 1 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Spanish Speaker At least one-year direct experience CITI Training Knowledge and experience with REDCap Knowledge of UNM IRB, experience with IRB submission Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with patients, clinic faculty and community partners Ability to work proficiently in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and Outlook)
