  • Shift: 4:30 am - 11:00 am, Weekends and Holidays - Part-time The Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board (H-NNCSB) is looking for a compassionate Psychiatric Nurse - Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Opioid Treatment Program (OTP) at the Hampton Roads Methadone Clinic in Newport News, Virginia. This part-time position provides an opportunity to support adults receiving medication-assisted treatment for opioid use disorder while working as part of a dedicated behavioral health team.   • Qualifications
  • To qualify for this position, candidates must have: Graduation from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program. A current Virginia Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing. One (1) year of experience administering medications or experience in a substance use treatment, psychiatric, or long-term care setting that includes the dispensing of narcotic medication. What You'll Do As a Psychiatric Nurse (LPN), you will provide safe, supportive nursing care to individuals receiving services through our Opioid Treatment Program.
  • Responsibilities include: Administer prescribed medications according to physician orders, treatment plans, and program protocols. Monitor clients for medication effectiveness, side effects, withdrawal symptoms, and changes in condition. Complete nursing assessments and accurately document observations and services provided. Assist the psychiatrist and treatment team with medication management and coordination of client care. Provide health education and supportive nursing interventions. Collaborate with counselors, providers, and other healthcare professionals to promote coordinated care. Maintain accurate medication administration records and required clinical documentation. Follow federal, state, and agency requirements governing opioid treatment programs. Promote a respectful, recovery-focused environment for individuals receiving services. Why Join H-NNCSB?
