  • Description: Behavioral Health Aides care for clients in the group home setting of our Acute Care Services locations. The goal of this position is to help with reintegration, teach living skills, and partner with therapeutic team to ensure treatment care plan is followed. Our BHAs will learn proper documentation techniques and other state and federal standards followed by the Alabama Department of Mental Health, earn certifications in their trainings, and create a path forward with a career in Mental Health. This is a PRN position for weekend work only, mainly nights. Selected candidates could work at any local WellStone location as needed.
  • What you'll be doing: Provide consistent instruction, guidance, encouragement and reinforcement to the clients that are committed to the Crisis Stabilization Unit. Regularly implements basic living skills training objectives and documents resident’s progress in a timely manner in the Electronic Health Record. Helps to coordinate activities, conduct group therapy, document client’s progress, maintain electronic documentation in timely manner. Work closely with Treatment Team. Regularly completes documentation of staff notes, incident reports, injury reports, shift observations, and other reports in a timely and accurate manner. May be required to lift approximately 50 lbs. Ensure clients comply with rules, maintain a clean and safe environment to include performance of housekeeping, assist clients where necessary. Demonstrates good safety skills including fire drills, emergency procedures and back safety techniques. Promotes a positive work environment, including positive relationships with supervisors, clients and their families and/or co-workers. Administration of medication was supervised and documented. Attends staff meetings, in-service meetings, trainings as required and remains current on all trainings/certifications. Works as schedules, correctly completes and submits timesheets, leave requests in a timely manner. Reports any facility or maintenance issues in a timely fashion and assist in the maintenance/housekeeping of the facility, and equipment. Performs verbal and at times physical de-escalation techniques as required, in addition to crisis interventions. Report to work on time, willing to remain on shift if unable to be relieved, coordinate coverage with other Behavioral Aides for dates unable to report to work, either annual or sick leave requests. May have to be escort/guardian for clients who are sent to the Hospital for evaluation. Complete other duties as assigned.   • QualificationsWhat we're looking for: High School Diploma or GED Familiar with computer/Microsoft Suite Excellent verbal and written communication skills Certified in CPR, SAMA, and MAC (or ability to obtain) Ability to work as part of a Team We are compassionate towards those impacted by behavioral health disorders. Requirements

Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and demonstrate proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft Suite. The role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to obtain or maintain certifications in CPR, SAMA, and MAC.
