Market context

California hospital chaplain roles stay specialized

In California, non-certified chaplain roles in healthcare are typically tied to hospitals and other clinical settings where spiritual care supports patients, families, and staff. These positions are competitive because employers often prefer a master’s degree, clinical specialty experience, and either board certification or CPE units, with hospital chaplaincy experience strengthening an application.
