About the role

The postdoctoral fellow will develop and validate organ-on-a-chip models and reproductive tissue organoids to study pregnancy disorders and test new drugs. Additionally, the role involves conducting high-throughput studies, analyzing data, and training junior lab members.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D., M.D. or Doctoral equivalent in any field. Scientific research experience.

Job Description

The postdoctoral fellow will conduct, report and present research in his/her field of study under the supervision of a faculty mentor. This is a training position, and is not expected to be a permanent position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: This position will assist with the performance of specific tasks in the Basic and Translational Research Division laboratory of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. This will include the development of Organ-on-a-chip (OOC) and reproductive tissue organoids for healthy and various pregnancy disorders, testing new drugs using these model systems, and physiologic validation of OOC models in animal model experimentations in reproductive biology. Specific tasks will involve but are not limited to: Designing OOCs; testing and validating them. Developing a healthy and disease model of various pregnancy conditions. Testing new drugs using OOCs. Developing organoids for various reproductive organs. Testing drugs using organoids. Conducting high throughput studies and analyze data. Assist junior faculty members and train graduate and post-graduate fellows in the lab.

Preferred Qualifications

PhD degree in relevant areas (organ on chip, cell biology and molecular biology) and experience in organ-on-chip fabrication (photo and soft lithography), organ-on-chip establishment, and experimental design. The candidate should have strong publication records in the relevant areas. Knowledge in drug discovery, testing and validation are also preferred. SALARY: Commensurate with experience.

Requirements
