As a Restorative Nursing Aide, you will work under the supervision of the Lead Nurse or Licensed Nurses to provide specialized nursing care that maintains or improves residents’ functional mobility and prevents decline in their overall functioning.
Ambulate residents safely using proper assistive devices according to individualized care plans.
Perform Active and Passive Range of Motion (ROM) exercises and other restorative techniques as prescribed to promote residents’ highest functional level.
Accurately document residents’ progress and report any improvements or declines to the licensed nurse or lead nurse.
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed to monitor progress or the need for further restorative care.
Coordinate with the Rehabilitation team (OT/PT/ST) to provide appropriate restorative programs in conjunction with or following skilled therapy services.
Educate and assist other CNAs on proper positioning, safe ambulation, and restorative care techniques as indicated in care plans.
Participate in care plan conferences with the interdisciplinary team as needed.
Preserve residents’ dignity and self-respect at all times.
Maintain confidentiality regarding residents and nursing care activities.
Ensure restorative equipment is in good working condition, stored safely and neatly.
Report equipment or supply needs to the Lead Nurse or Director of Nursing Services.
Respond promptly to emergencies and call signals.
Assist in transporting residents to and from appointments when necessary.
Support residents in recreational and social activities as needed.
Assume group and dining room duties as assigned by the Lead Nurse.
Recognize and respect residents’ individual emotional, social, cultural, and religious needs.
Attend all orientation and in-service training programs as scheduled.
Perform other duties as assigned.
