To assist in the packaging, labeling, preparation, and delivery of pharmaceutical products under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and to provide technical support in all phases of drug distribution; assists with clerical and supply functions. Although work is generally light, lifting cartons of 25 to 30 pounds is not unusual
Certification as a Pharmacy Technician from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician certification program (e.g., Pharmacy Technician Certification Board [PTCB] or National Healthcareer Association [NHA]). Registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the New York State Board of Pharmacy preferred Previous training in unit dose systems and IV preparation is preferred. Ability to perceive differences in similarly named products. Finger dexterity and mechanical aptitude in operation and maintenance of unit dose machines and typing. Must be precise and accurate. Must be able to perform short cycle repetitive activities. Ability to occasionally lift heavy boxes (approximately 25-30 pounds). Exhibits an ability and attitude relative to the spirit of caring and tradition at Calvary Hospital as required by specific job duties and functions.
Requires a high school diploma and certification as a Pharmacy Technician from a nationally accredited program. Candidates must possess mechanical aptitude, precision, and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
