About the role

The Social Worker will conduct psychosocial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting. They are also responsible for facilitating group and family therapy sessions and coordinating comprehensive discharge and aftercare plans.

Responsibilities

Lancaster Behavioral Health Hospital (LBHH) is a 126-bed, inpatient psychiatric hospital and start-up joint venture between Lancaster General Health/Penn Medicine and Universal Health Services.
In addition to a general adult unit and dedicated adolescent unit, the facility offers services for treating those with co-occurring disorders on the psychiatric-medical unit, an intensive adult unit to care for those with severe conditions, as well as a women’s trauma unit.
Therapists are responsible for completing the following duties and tasks: Conduct psychosocial assessments to document patient history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus by interviewing the patient and their family members.
Participate in the development and implementation of treatment plans, ensuring that concise, realistic care plans are carried out.
Provide individual, group and family process-oriented therapies as well as conduct other didactic groups using various professional treatment modalities.
Document treatment provided to patient in medical record legibly and in a timely manner.
Develop and coordinate an individualized discharge plan for the patient by utilizing the treatment team and chart information to determine aftercare needs.
Identify and assess family or community resources such as group homes, or mental health practitioners to meet patient’s aftercare needs.

Qualifications

What Does LBHH Require for this Role?

Master’s degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology or Social Services related field required.

License preferred but not required.

Requirements

Candidates must possess a Master's degree in Social Work, Clinical/Counseling Psychology, or a related social services field. While a professional license is preferred, it is not strictly required for this role.
