Repackage, prepare, and accurately label medications, IV solutions, non-sterile compounds, and automated dispensing cabinets under pharmacist supervision. Perform calculations, complete all required documentation, and ensure pharmacist review before dispensing. Deliver medications to patient care units, manage transfers, and remove expired or recalled medications. Understand and follow proper handling procedures for controlled substances. Answer phones, assist customers, and manage pneumatic tube station operations. Fill and deliver interdepartmental orders, maintaining accurate logs and records. Operate pharmacy equipment including computers, fax machines, printers, automated dispensing cabinets, and telephones. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe pharmacy environment by restocking, cleaning workstations, and returning medications to stock. Promote UPMC Pinnacle’s Mission, Vision, and Values while participating in performance improvement initiatives. Collaborate with nursing, physicians, and other hospital personnel; may travel to other UPMC Pinnacle facilities as needed.
