Registered Nurse (RN) Location: Bronx, NY Hours/Days: 4/10 hour shifts, Mon-Tue, Thu-Fri 8a-6p Organization: New York Cancer & Blood Specialists (NYCBS) In This Role, You Will: Administer chemotherapeutic and biologic agents, as well as supportive care medications as prescribed by a physician Recognize and treat cancer-related and treatment-related issues. Monitor and chart vital signs, document in the medication administration record Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to share expertise and knowledge Participate in cancer research trials, administering medications per protocol Provide supportive resources to patients and caregivers to promote health and wellness Teach patients and caregivers families regarding treatment expectations. Monitor patient status during the administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive medications. Chart the patient’s response to treatment and medication. Educate patients and caregivers about follow up care and emergency services We Require: Valid New York State RN License Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills. Proficiency with an EMR (preferred) Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Reliable transportation to travel to NYCBS locations for patient care needs
