About the role

The Research Program Coordinator will manage day-to-day research activities, including participant recruitment, data collection, and database maintenance. They will also handle regulatory submissions to the IRB and facilitate communication among the research team and investigators.

Description The Research Program Coordinator will support the implementation and day-to-day coordination of the research study under the supervision of Drs. Ash Tewari ad Dr. Nihal Mohamed. The Coordinator will work closely with the Principal Investigators, Co-Investigators, and research team to support participant recruitment and follow-up, qualitative and quantitative data collection, regulatory activities, study database management, and overall project coordination.

Responsibilities

Coordinate day-to-day research activities and support the successful implementation of the study. Assist with patient/participant recruitment and enrollment, including communicating with potential participants, providing study information, and coordinating screening and enrollment activities. Conduct and coordinate study follow-up assessments with enrolled participants according to the study protocol. Participate in qualitative and quantitative data collection, including assisting with focus group coordination, facilitation, and coding. Enter research data and maintain accurate and up-to-date study databases at ISMMS. Ensure accurate and timely collection, documentation, and management of research data. Prepare and submit regulatory documents required for human subjects research at ISMMS under the supervision of the Principal Investigators. Coordinate Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, continuing reviews, amendments, and other regulatory activities throughout the study. Coordinate research meetings and maintain communication among the research team and study collaborators. Organize and participate in weekly and biweekly research team meetings. Assist the Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators with preparation of continuation and final reports, manuscripts, presentations, and other study-related materials. Maintain study documentation and ensure compliance with institutional and study-specific policies and procedures. Perform other research coordination activities as needed to support successful completion of the study.

Qualifications

Masters degree in Natural Sciences OR Bachelors degree in Natural Sciences plus 5 years of progressive research experience with some experience in research administration preferred. 4 years of research experience (5 years if no Masters degree) in data management and study coordination in healthcare or basic research.

Preferred

Experience with clinical research coordination, participant recruitment, or human subjects research preferred. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, investigators, and research staff. Experience with electronic research databases and data entry preferred. Familiarity with IRB and human subjects research requirements preferred. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive participant information. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary research team

Compensation The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58661 - $74250 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Natural Sciences or a Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of progressive research experience. Proficiency in data management, study coordination, and familiarity with human subjects research requirements are essential.
