Job Description

Provides basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education.

The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant role.

Clinical/Administrative duties included but not limited to: Vitals, outside medication reconciliation, outside allergy reconciliation, screenings, patient history and virtual health.

Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation.

Assists providers with in-house procedures as needed Provides administrative support including but not limited to scheduling, chart prep, referrals, check in/out, prior authorizations and transportation facilitation.

Floats to other offices based on business needs.

This role offers the opportunity to travel between Farmington and Glastonbury offices —bringing variety to your workday and the chance to collaborate across multiple teams and communities.

Additional responsibilities and career advancement opportunities are available through a clinical ladder for Medical Assistants based on experience, skillsets, and certifications held.

Qualifications

Education

Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program OR an active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic or Medic Certification OR relative experience as outlined below. Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date. All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.

Experience

In lieu of education requirement, at least one year of experience in direct patient care (acute or ambulatory space) may be considered. Relevant experience or MA externship in a busy medical office preferred. EPIC EMR experience preferred. We take great care of careers.

Requirements

Requires a diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or active certification as a CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or Medic. Candidates must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
