The ideal candidate will be a dependable, detail-oriented team player who loves pets and being part of a fun, supportive team.
They will have experience with rooming patients, drawing blood, placing IV catheters, radiology, assisting in surgeries, and proper animal handling & restraint, and being a positive, inclusive and motivating team member.

The hourly pay rate for this position starts at $26.00 - $38.00 per hour, this varies depending on experience, education, certifications, and location.
Additional $500.00 Sign-on bonus!
Continuing Education (CE) allowance, and paid CE PTO Annual Uniform allowance Professional License reimbursement Flexible scheduling - 8 hour shift length (Monday - Saturday) Location: 4140 Redwood Hwy, San Rafael, CA 94903 Who You Are: 1+ years clinical experience as a veterinary technician or assistant.
Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California, license must be active and in good standing.
Or be eligible to transfer or become licensed in California within 3 months of hire.
A degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of industry tools and equipment Passion for working with animals and their owners Experience with proper animal handling and restraint Understand the importance of excellent communication and organizational skills Obtain accurate and thorough medical histories Perform basic exam procedures Skilled in venipuncture and Intravenous (IV) catheter placement (cephalic, saphenous, and jugular) Able to perform digital radiology (X-ray) including positioning Perform complete dental procedures, including digital x-rays, scaling, polishing, charting Ability to perform dental extractions as allowed by licensure preferred Comfortable with general anesthesia and surgical assisting (induction, intubation, monitoring, aseptic technique) Laboratory skills including microscope (ear and fecal cytology); IDEXX in-house laboratory Excellent client communication/education Adaptable to working well with current doctors and team members Animal Medical Center San Rafael aims to provide owners with sound, honest choices for their pets and to provide our patients with excellent and compassionate medical care.

Candidates must be a Registered Veterinary Technician in California or eligible for licensure within three months. A degree from an AVMA-accredited program is preferred, along with at least one year of clinical experience.
