Overview
Sentara RMH Medical Center is hiring an Vascular Lab Technologist for the Cardiac service line non-invasive lab. This is a full time, day shift position in Harrisonburg, Va. Must life within 30 minutes of the facility for call purposes.
Hours
Schedule can be either four 9-hour shifts or five 8-hour shifts with start time of 8am.
Required Call
every 4th weekend from 8am to noon on Saturday and Sunday.
The Sentara RMH Medical Center echocardiography and vascular lab is considered high volume with close to 9,500 procedures performed annually.
The lab works closely with our invasive cardiology (structural heart, electrophysiology, diagnostic/interventional cath) and cardiothoracic surgery services.
Each Team member is expected to perform about 7 exams per day.
Preliminary reports are generated in ProSolv (Structured Report SW Application).
Clinical equipment include state of the art Philips Epic ultrasound systems and EPIC (electronic medical record).
Both inpatient and outpatient echo services are located on the Sentara RMH Medical Center main campus within the non-invasive cardiology lab.
- Education
- High School Diploma required with experience and certification required, Associate Degree preferred
- Certification/Licensure
- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) OR Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- BLS required
- Experience
- 1 year of experience preferred
- Communication with patients and providers required
- provide accurate diagnostic information required
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of echocardiographic techniques, equipment, and industry standards required

Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
