The Radiologic Technologist performs radiologic procedures and operates x-ray equipment to assist in accurate patient diagnosis. They are also responsible for maintaining equipment, stocking procedure rooms, and performing necessary clerical tasks.

What will you do as a PMC X-Ray Tech

The Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech) performs radiologic procedures as ordered by physicians. The X-Ray Tech Performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to ensure the proper radiological diagnosis of patients. Performs a variety of tasks involved in operating x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated body portions.

A day in the life of a PMC Medical Assistant may include

Prepares patients for radiologic procedures.

Takes x-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety.

Responsible for maintaining required educational hours to meet licensing requirements.

Follows radiation protection guidelines and utilizes appropriate shielding devices.

Ensures equipment is in good working order and reports equipment malfunction to management.

Performs various clerical duties including the filing of x-ray reports and maintenance of accurate log journals, etc.

Maintains and stocks procedure rooms.

Orders supplies as needed.

Abides by OSHA guidelines.

Maintains patient and practice confidentiality.

Maintains professional demeanor at all times with patients, caregivers, physicians, and coworkers.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Certifications): Associate's degree in Applied Science or a similar field required. Completion of approved Radiologic Technology course by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience with data entry operations. Detailed-oriented with strong financial emphasis. Medical office experience preferred. Insurance processing experience is highly desired.

Requirements

Candidates must hold an Associate's degree in Applied Science or a similar field and possess current certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Previous medical office experience and data entry skills are preferred.
