PEAK Veterinary Referral Center in Williston, VT is hiring a Veterinary Technician to join our growing multi-specialty hospital team. This Veterinary Technician opportunity is ideal for someone looking to expand their skills, gain exposure to specialty medicine, and work alongside experienced veterinary professionals in a collaborative environment. As a Veterinary Technician Float, you’ll support a variety of departments including Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Surgery, Oncology, Radiology, Behavior, and Urgent Care while continuing to grow your clinical skills.
Provide high-quality nursing care for Urgent Care, ICU, Surgery, Internal Medicine, and Oncology. Triage incoming patients, obtain medical histories, assess vital signs, and communicate findings with veterinarians Monitor hospitalized, sedated, and critically ill patients, recognizing and escalating changes in patient condition Assist veterinarians with diagnostics, treatments, procedures, and overall patient care Perform technical skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement, cystocentesis, urinary catheterization, radiography, cytology, laboratory testing, and sample processing Administer medications and treatments, calculate dosages, manage fluid therapy, and provide nutritional support Support urgent care and specialty procedures including wound management, laceration repairs, and urinary obstruction cases Review treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions with clients to support continuity of care Maintain accurate medical records, inventory, cleanliness, and organization throughout the hospital Collaborate with doctors, specialists, and team members to deliver exceptional patient care and support a positive team culture
Previous veterinary experience preferred CVT, RVT, or LVT credentials welcomed, but not required Interest in urgent care and specialty medicine Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team Positive attitude, self-awareness, empathy, and professionalism Passion for providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced animal hospital environment Fluent English speaking and reading skills required About PEAK Veterinary Referral Center PEAK is a 14,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art multi-specialty veterinary hospital providing care to pets throughout the region. Our specialty services include: Internal Medicine Surgery Oncology Radiology Behavior We proudly serve pet owners and referring veterinarians throughout Vermont, northern New York, and New Hampshire. In 2021, we expanded our services with a seven-day-a-week Urgent Care department to support the non-critical medical needs of pets in the greater Burlington, Vermont area and beyond.
