Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and patient care Assist veterinarians during routine and complex surgical procedures Prepare patients, equipment, and surgical areas for procedures Support anesthesia preparation, monitoring, recovery, and perioperative patient care Calculate medication and drug dosages accurately Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Perform venipuncture, IV catheter placement, and diagnostic sample collection Assist with laboratory testing and other diagnostic procedures Perform dental prophylaxis and support preventive dental care Utilize Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques to promote patient comfort and safety Obtain patient histories and accurately document vital signs and medical information Maintain accurate and thorough patient medical records Educate clients clearly and compassionately about treatments, medications, preventive care, and veterinarian recommendations Maintain clean, organized, stocked, and efficient treatment areas Collaborate with veterinarians and teammates to maintain an efficient daily workflow Share your knowledge and experience while supporting the continued growth of your teammates What You'll Bring We're looking for a credentialed veterinary professional who combines strong technical skills with compassion, curiosity, communication, and a team-first attitude. Current Veterinary Technician license or credential as required by the state Strong veterinary clinical and patient-care skills Confidence assisting with routine and complex surgical procedures Ability to calculate medication and drug dosages accurately Experience with anesthesia monitoring and patient recovery Proficiency with venipuncture and IV catheter placement Experience with dental prophylaxis; a special interest in preventive dentistry is a plus Safe and compassionate patient handling and restraint skills Interest in or experience with Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques Excellent communication and client-education skills Strong attention to detail and accurate medical recordkeeping Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy veterinary environment A positive, supportive, and collaborative approach Commitment to teamwork and mutual respect Desire to continue learning and growing professionally Willingness to share your knowledge and encourage the growth of others A genuine passion for veterinary medicine and exceptional patient care The Extras You'll Actually Feel At Wellington Veterinary Clinic, we want our Veterinary Technicians to do more than simply complete a list of tasks.
