Accurately identifies patients and enters scheduling information into the computerized scheduling system. Identifies and coordinates special needs for each patient prior to surgery. Reviews the surgery schedule and completes pre-op phone calls with patients. Provides high-quality nursing care using the nursing process and established standards of care. Educates patients and families on procedures, medications, treatment plans, and pre-op instructions. Coordinates care and follow-up needs with providers and other members of the healthcare team. Uses critical thinking and clinical judgment to promote patient safety and address individual patient needs.
Education: Associate’s Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
Candidates must hold an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and possess at least 2 years of acute clinical nursing experience. A valid RN license in the state of practice is required, along with mandatory reporter training.
