- The Student Tech must have a general knowledge of all areas within the Department.
- Must utilize the principles of continuous quality improvement in collaboration with other health team members.
- The Student Tech will assist the Technologist with examinations according to their specialty and currently accepted guidelines of the Texas DSHS, ACR and DHL System.
- The Student Tech will prepare technical reports, exam rooms, equipment and supplies for procedures.
- ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Assist Radiologists and Technologists with procedures.
- Demonstrates skills needed for designated modality.
- Demonstrates good patient care.
- Utilizes the appropriate scanning skills required for the modality he or she is assisting with.
- The Student Tech will be working very cohesively with a Tech and will utilize the critiques and guidelines given to him or her from the Technologist.
- Demonstrates good communication between the student and the Technologist.
- Will report to modality Supervisor and/or Director.
- Provides an environment conducive to safety for patients, visitors and employees.
- The Student Tech will report any risks of patient safety and activate the chain of command.
- The Student Tech will comply with appropriate and approved standards relating to: patients, infection control, and environmental issues.

Qualifications
Education
Must be enrolled at least 1 year in a Educational program in line with their Student tech position. Must possess a NCT (Non-certified Radiologic Technician) license. Must attain Certification within 6 months of graduating from program. BLS required.
