The Operating Room Nursing Assistant performs essential patient care activities and maintains a sterile environment through proper asepsis and infection control procedures. Responsibilities include room setup, patient transportation, equipment retrieval, and thorough between-case cleaning of operating rooms.
An individual who performs various patient care activities based on age and functional status, and related non-professional services in the Operating Rooms. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Please list the fundamental job duties of the position (approx 3-5). Follows approved/established techniques and procedures related to asepsis, infection control and safety. Performs all duties and tasks of an Operating Room Nursing Assistant, including room setup, transportation of patients, equipment retrieval, and room turnover. Performs between-case clean up in assigned OR’s, including surface cleaning, floor cleaning, tables, etc. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the Hospital.
EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: High School Graduate CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION: Maintains all certification as required by the Department of Nursing, including basic cardiac life support. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of one-year experience in an acute care inpatient environment preferred.
