We are seeking a reliable, adaptable and detail-oriented Float Medical Assistant to join our team in our Lake Oswego office. Dermatology Associates believe our employees are our most valuable asset. The Float Medical Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring smooth clinical operations by performing a wide range of medical duties and providing direct support to both providers and patients.
This position is a balance of administrative and hands-on MA work.
The Float MA will quickly assess patients' needs both in person and over the phone to ensure that urgent issues are priorities and providers have the right information to make decisions.
Hands-on patient care duties include assisting with patient flow, rooming patients, assisting in general dermatology procedures, surgery assisting, Electronic Medical Record scribing on an iPad, lab duties, and phlebotomy.
Strong clinical knowledge to recognize urgent vs not urgent symptoms is essential to success in this role.
Candidates must hold a current Medical Assistant certification from a nationally accredited program and possess BLS certification. At least one year of outpatient medical assistant experience, preferably in dermatology, is required.
The ideal candidate can remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Tuesday - Friday, 36-40 hours per week, day shift
Wage: Wages are determined based on experience, entry wage for this role is $20/hour
