At Mattapan Health & Rehabilitation Center, Certified Nursing Assistants are at the heart of the care we provide.

As a CNA, you'll be one of the team members residents see and rely on throughout their day — helping with personal care, mobility, meals, comfort, and the everyday moments that make a meaningful difference in their quality of life.

Our 85-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation community provides both Short-Term Rehabilitation and Long-Term Care, giving you the opportunity to work with residents recovering from illness, injury, or surgery as well as those who call Mattapan home for longer-term care.

This is a hands-on role where your compassion, patience, reliability, and attention to detail matter.

You'll work closely with nurses, therapists, and other members of our interdisciplinary team to make sure residents receive the care, dignity, and respect they deserve.

Requirements

Responsibilities

What You'll Do As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you'll provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents while working closely with nurses and the interdisciplinary care team. Responsibilities include: Assist residents with daily activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, oral care, and other personal needs. Assist with transfers, repositioning, ambulation, mobility, and use of mechanical lifts and other equipment. Support residents during meals, including feeding assistance and documenting food and fluid intake as directed. Take and record vital signs, weights, intake/output, and other resident information as assigned. Observe and promptly report changes in residents' condition, behavior, skin integrity, mobility, appetite, or overall well-being. Follow individualized care plans and provide restorative and rehabilitative activities as directed. Assist residents with therapy, appointments, activities, admissions, transfers, and discharges. Respond to resident call systems and routinely check on residents to ensure their needs are being met. Maintain accurate documentation and communicate important resident information to nursing staff. Maintain resident dignity, privacy, confidentiality, and rights at all times. Follow infection prevention, safety, emergency, and facility procedures. Keep resident rooms, care areas, and equipment clean, safe, and organized. Participate in required training, education, and in-service programs. Work collaboratively with nursing, rehabilitation, social services, dietary, activities, and other departments. Perform other duties as assigned. From Up to

Qualifications

Seventeen (17) years of age required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred Employment Certificate/Permit required for 17 years of age. Registration in the State Nurse Aide Registry (CNA) is required. Active on the State Nursing Aide Registry with no findings or convictions of resident abuse, mistreatment or misappropriation of property. Training and work experience in a geriatric setting preferred. Ability to supervise and work well with other personnel Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing Caring and respectful attitude towards residents Physical stamina for constant activity required. Ability to perform tasks to established standards of excellence required. This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.
