CT Technologists at MUSC play a critical role in capturing detailed cross-sectional images using cutting-edge CT technology, including networked CT units, dedicated protocol support, and the only photon counting CT in South Carolina. As a CT technologist at MUSC, you will be aiding in diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions, collaborating closely with other care teams to ensure high-quality patient care in a dynamic medical environment. Utilize all CT imaging resources to perform high-quality CT examinations Provide CT imaging services for patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics Ensure accurate and efficient imaging for physician interpretation Maintain image quality standards and follow established CT protocols Deliver compassionate patient care while ensuring patient safety during examinations Operate CT equipment safely and effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare teams to support patient diagnosis and treatment Additional

Required License Certification and Registration: Education: Graduation from an accredited school of radiologic technology.

Experience

  • 0 to 2 years of modality specific work experience, at least 1 year of X-Ray experience.

  • Registration/Certification: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) (R), required. ARRT CT Registration must be obtained within 1 year in this position. Licensure from the South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association is required. To transfer a 100 lb. patient that cannot assist in the transfer requires 50 lbs. of force. For every 100 additional pounds, assistance will be required from another healthcare worker.

20 lbs. of force is needed to push a 400 lb. patient in a wheelchair on carpet.

25 lbs. of force is required to push a stretcher with a patient with one hand. Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes. (Continuous) Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance. (Continuous) Ability to match or discriminate between colors. (Continuous) Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception. (Continuous) Good peripheral vision capabilities.
