The Medication Aide is responsible for dispensing and charting medications, monitoring vital signs, and documenting resident conditions. They also coordinate with doctors and outside agencies while ensuring the dignity and safety of all residents.
Under the direction of Director of Nursing, the Medication Aide performs tasks that involve specific supportive services for residents, pouring dispensing and charting medications, vital signs, general charting of resident’s condition and completion of a variety of forms. Responsibilities 1. Pour, pass, and chart medications. 2. Perform accucheck. 3. Always preserve the dignity and self-respect of all residents. 4. Practice confidentiality regarding residents and their records. 5. Keep alert to residents’ conditions. Report changes in residents’ attitude, appearance, behavior, or physical abilities to supervisor. 6. Promptly answer call lights. 7. Complete appropriate paperwork such as charting and incident reports. 8. Attending all training and in-services required. 9. Ordering medications 10. Contacting Doctors and outside agencies. QualificationsQualifications 1. Ability to read, write and speak English. 2. Ability to follow written and verbal directions. 3. Ability to conform to requirements of dress code and personal hygiene standards. 4. Ability to cooperate with other employees. 5. Ability to do extensive bending, lifting and standing on a regular basis. 6. Oregon Care Partners Certification for Med Tech 7. Highschool Graduate 8. Must have first aid training and CPR certificates. 9. Must have acceptable references. 10. Must have current physical exam and TB test. 11. Must be able to pass fingerprint screening.
Candidates must hold a high school diploma, First Aid and CPR certifications, and an Oregon Care Partners Certification for Med Tech. The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing, as well as passing a fingerprint screening.
