About the role

The Medical Assistant will provide clinical support for occupational health services, including pre-employment screenings and workers' compensation assistance. They will work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care across multiple clinic locations.

About the Practice This position will support our Occupational Health Clinics located at 426 Michigan, 4600 Breton and occasionally our Zeeland location.

Our team provides pre-employment and workers comp services to external employers but within a Corewell Health facility.

Office Culture We have a small and intimate team.

There will be a culture of strong teamwork and flexibility to meet the customers’ needs and delivery services.

About Outpatient Clinics Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan, bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve.

There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices, which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work As a Medical Assistant with Corewell Health, you'll be a member of our clinical support team and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the delivery of the best possible care.

You'll be a vital part of our team, making a real difference in the lives of our patients.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent Required Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program that includes hands-on, in-person clinical skills training OR a minimum of one (1) year of experience working specifically in the role of a Medical Assistant, LPN, Paramedic or EMT performing direct patient care and clinical support functions consistent with MA scope of practice Required 1 year of relevant experience in a physician practice or healthcare setting Preferred AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required within 90 Days One of the following Required within 120 Days AAMA Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) AMT Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) NHA Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) NCCT Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) NAHP Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or at least one year of relevant clinical experience. Certification as a CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA is required within 120 days of hire.
