Description We are seeking a dependable, professional, and patient-focused Medical Assistant (MA) to join our healthcare team at our Palm Springs clinic. The Medical Assistant will work closely with our providers, Clinic Team Lead, Front Desk staff, and other members of the clinical team to provide efficient and high-quality patient care.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for supporting the clinical flow of the office and ensuring patients are prepared for their appointments in a timely and professional manner. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced medical office.
Greet patients professionally and provide a welcoming clinical experience. Room patients promptly and assist with maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Obtain and accurately document vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiratory rate, weight, and other required measurements. Review and update patient medications, allergies, medical history, and other relevant information. Prepare patients for examinations and procedures. Assist providers with examinations and in-office procedures as directed. Perform clinical duties within the Medical Assistant's scope of practice and organizational policies. Prepare and maintain examination rooms before and after patient visits. Clean and disinfect examination rooms and equipment according to established procedures. Ensure examination rooms are appropriately stocked with necessary medical supplies. Assist with laboratory specimens, testing, injections, vaccinations, EKGs, and other clinical services as permitted by training, scope, and organizational policy. Accurately document information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Review and respond to assigned patient messages and clinical tasks within established timeframes. Assist with medication refill requests and route requests to the appropriate provider when applicable. Assist with obtaining and documenting outside medical records as needed. Communicate provider instructions and follow-up information to patients as directed. Assist with referrals, orders, forms, and other clinical documentation when assigned. Monitor provider schedules and work with the Clinic Team Lead and Front Desk to maintain efficient patient flow. Notify the Clinic Team Lead of significant delays, patient concerns, workflow issues, or other operational concerns. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies. Follow infection-control, safety, and clinical procedures at all times. Provide professional and courteous service to patients, providers, coworkers, and outside organizations. Complete assigned opening, closing, and daily clinical responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned based on the operational needs of the clinic. The ideal candidate is someone who is dependable, punctual, organized, compassionate, and willing to work as part of a team. We are looking for an MA who takes initiative, communicates effectively, maintains a sense of urgency when caring for patients, and understands the importance of keeping the clinic moving efficiently.

This position reports to the Clinic Team Lead, with overall oversight by the Director of Operations.
