This position is responsible for performing radiologic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians and other licensed medical providers in diagnosing the disease and injuries of Oyate Health Center(OHC) patients.
Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
Prepares and positions patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
Adjusts immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of the specified area of the body requested by the physician.
Moves imaging equipment into specified positions, and determines exposure factors based on height, weight, the portion of the body involved, and the degree of penetration required.
Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
Performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
Processes images and reviews for proper identification and quality control.
Prepares images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians.
Performs routine maintenance, diagnoses malfunctions, makes minor repairs on radiologic equipment, and arranges for repairs as needed.
Responsible for establishing and maintaining the Quality Assurance/Quality Control programs required by the American College of Radiology.
Schedules appointment for patient examinations.
Completes forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.
Responsible for ordering and maintaining supplies for the Imaging Department.
Maintain effective, collaborative interdepartmental and external relations.
Must comply with federal laws and regulations as required by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Performs imaging related duties.
Performs the core responsibilities of the position accurately, timely, and in accordance with established standards.
Maintains regular and reliable attendance consistent with the position’s schedule and operational needs.
Communicates effectively with internal and external stakeholders as required by the role.
Adheres to all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Utilizes required systems, tools, and technology necessary to perform the job.
