Trauma Intervention Counselor Milford Trauma Intervention Services

Salary Range

$23.50 - $27.00/hour depending on experience + sign-on bonus (half paid after 6 months of employment and half paid after 1 year of employment/pro-rated for part-time). What You Will Do: Provide crisis intervention, advocacy, individual, family, and group counseling to survivors and significant others affected by domestic violence, rape/sexual assault, as well as support to children who witnessed violence. Provide emergency response to hotline callers, legal advocacy and medical advocacy during daytime hours as well as be on rotation coverage for nights, weekends and holiday shifts. Conduct assessments; develop safety plans, complete required documentation Liaison with other area providers. Maintains and reports on funder's quarterly and annual statistics. Strong communication skills –both written and verbal, as well as public speaking. Ability to assess and manage risk/crisis. Capacity to maintain clients per their need. Ability to work as part of a team. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work with social media platforms. Learns, uses, and models good self-care in work with crime victims. Flexibility, creative thinking to adapt for competing priorities. Is passionate about anti-racism, anti-oppression in its many forms, and supporting survivors. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Counseling or equivalent. Two years’ experience working with individuals, groups, and families or equivalent life/work experience. Experience working with victims and/or criminal justice system is desirable. Bilingual Spanish/Portuguese preferred. Driving in the community is a requirement of this position; please ensure you have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle. We will train you in: Rape Crisis Training; Motivational Interviewing; Courageous Conversations; Attachment, Regulation and Competency Model (ARC); Trauma Informed Practice; Risk and Safety Assessment.

Requirements

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Counseling or equivalent and at least two years of experience working with individuals, groups, or families. A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle are mandatory for community travel.
