The CSAC will provide comprehensive substance use counseling, assessments, and individualized treatment planning for adults and adolescents. They will also coordinate care with community agencies and maintain accurate, Medicaid-compliant clinical documentation.
Complete comprehensive substance use assessments. Develop and update individualized treatment plans. Provide individual and group substance use counseling. Deliver relapse prevention education and recovery planning. Utilize Motivational Interviewing (MI) and evidence-based treatment approaches. Coordinate care with physicians, behavioral health providers, probation officers, and community agencies. Assist clients with housing, employment, education, transportation, and community resources. Maintain timely, accurate, and Medicaid-compliant clinical documentation. Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings. Provide crisis intervention and safety planning when appropriate. Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2. Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and required training.
Required Current Virginia Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) credential. Experience working with individuals experiencing substance use disorders. Knowledge of co-occurring mental health disorders. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Valid Virginia driver's license and reliable transportation for community-based services. Preferred Experience providing Medicaid-funded behavioral health services. Knowledge of ASAM Criteria. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Familiarity with trauma-informed care, recovery-oriented services, and motivational interviewing. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.
