This an administrative position, focused on coordinating and facilitating ease of access for several housing program opportunities for individuals with behavioral health conditions in Suffolk County. As a member of the Adult SPOA unit, the Housing Coordinator will be responsible for reviewing/processing applications for adults with mental illness seeking respite, Crisis Residence and/or SPA housing. The Housing Coordinator will be the primary contact person at the County level regarding oversight of these housing programs; which includes ensuring policies and procedures are being followed, as well as working together with housing and respite providers and referral sources to ensure the system is working to its full potential.
This position requires an individual who is organized and able to complete tasks timely, efficiently and independently, as many of the roles within this position are time sensitive. It is necessary to possess strong communication and negations skills, in order to coordinate effectively with all different providers and resources. As coordinator of these programs, it is important to have a working knowledge and be able to utilize Microsoft Excel in order to manage reports and statistics to identify trends in the housing systems.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, or like experience required project Management or similar experience preferred
A Bachelor's degree is required for this position. Candidates should possess strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
