The Pharmacy Tech is responsible to the Registered Pharmacist and provides assistance in the dispensing functions, which include at least the following: purchasing, inventory control of all drug classes, sterile product preparation and associated equipment maintenance, and automated dispensing cabinets equipment and inventory maintenance. Also performs technical duties to maintain pharmaceutical dispensing functions to all neonate, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including inpatients and outpatients. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent PREFERRED EDUCATION: NA MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Pharmacy experience PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Hospital pharmacy REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Possession of current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registration PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board, IV Admixture Certification
