Work Shift: Weekend Shift (United States of America) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 36 Department: Perry County Imaging Services Position will work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Overview of Position: Performs diagnostic CT procedures on assigned patients in an efficient and caring manner in order to provide data for the diagnosis of a wide variety of medical problems. Evaluates exams for diagnostic quality while using professional judgement in the performance of services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Operates CT scanner and associated imaging equipment to complete diagnostic and interventional procedures. 2. Produces acceptable images by determining proper technical factors (protocols, slice thickness and increments, exposure parameters, etc) based on patient diagnosis and reason for exam. 3. Assists physicians in CT guided interventional procedures as required. 4. Prepares and administers contrast media under the direction of a physician, appropriately utilizing and operating automatic injector for designated studies. 5. Follows all radiation protection and radiation safety policies. 6. Effectively uses computer systems (such as HIS, RIS, PACS) to process, access and distribute appropriate department and patient procedure information. 7. Assists in transportation of patients to and from the department. 8. Participates in clinical training of radiology students by providing instruction, supervision and evaluation as required. 9. Participates in providing education and information to patients and their families. 10. Participates in quality assurance/quality control activities as required. 11. Performs other functions as assigned.
Requires registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and licensure by the State of Ohio. Candidates must have at least one year of experience as a Radiology Technologist and possess strong interpersonal and computer skills.
