Job Duties Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.(Do not delete, move or over-write this statement) Performs patient care under direct supervision of a licensed therapy professional.
Provides assistance according to departmental policies and procedures and applicable state practice guidelines.
Transports patients to treatment area with timely arrival for therapy appointment.
Assures that equipment and treatment areas remain clean, properly stored and ready for use according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Performs clerical duties as directed by staff and supervisors in a timely manner to insure smooth daily operations of the department.
Supervises exercise programs, leads group exercises, documents appropriately (attendance, fees paid), and demonstrates knowledge of the specific needs relative to the safety of the participant.
Demonstrates familiarity with basic computer skills such as scheduling, transporter lists, billing and ability to set up new patient/administer survey.
Communicates impressions and objective information in a clear and timely manner to therapists, supervisors, and others as directed to insure efficient coordination and optimal outcomes.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands Lift and carry 40-50 lbs.
Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
