Medical Lab Tech - Full Time - Wolf River

Position Overview The Medical Laboratory Technician plays a critical role in supporting the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients by performing technical laboratory testing on patient specimens.
Working under the direction of a licensed Medical Technologist, this role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with professional laboratory standards.
Key Responsibilities Perform accurate and appropriate laboratory testing of patient specimens under supervision Report test results promptly and according to established laboratory procedures Adhere to quality control procedures, compliance regulations, and standard operating policies Assist in managing lab resources, instruments, and workflow for efficient operations Maintain safety standards while working with hazardous materials and patient specimens Perform additional duties as assigned
Education & Experience Required: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (including those grandfathered in from CLA programs) Current licensure as a Medical Laboratory Technician in the state of Tennessee (required only for TN-based positions) Substitutions Allowed: Graduation from a military medical laboratory program Skills & Abilities Working knowledge of clinical laboratory procedures and instrumentation Effective verbal and written communication skills Familiarity with laboratory information systems Ability to manage tasks independently and prioritize effectively Team-oriented mindset and ability to communicate across clinical departments Why West Cancer Center is a Great Place to Work Meaningful Impact: Play a direct role in supporting patients through one of the most challenging times of their lives.
