Position Summary
As an OR RN at GW Hospital, you will deliver direct patient care during surgical procedures, ensuring a safe, sterile, and efficient environment. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary surgical team to provide outstanding care and uphold the highest standards of patient safety.
Main Tasks Circulate or scrub for surgical procedures across multiple specialties Perform pre-op assessments and intra-op monitoring Maintain aseptic techniques and enforce infection control policies Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical techs Document patient status and surgical events accurately and in real-time Provide emotional support to patients and families pre- and post-procedure Participate in staff training and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
Required
- Current DC RN license (or eligible for DC licensure)
- BLS and ACLS (must be AHA-certified)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in the Operating Room or Perioperative setting
Preferred
- CNOR certification
- Experience in trauma or high-acuity surgical environments
