Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care for adult IMCU/PCU patients with high-acuity needs, delivering evidence-based nursing care.
- Conduct ongoing assessments, monitor vitals and telemetry, document findings in the electronic medical record, and adjust care plans as needed.
- Administer prescribed medications and therapies, including anticoagulation and heparin drips; manage IV lines and continuous infusions.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to anticipate patient needs, respond to changes in condition, and escalate promptly to the physician as required.
- Care for patients with sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, CKD, substance use, and encephalopathy; implement and evaluate treatment plans.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, pain management, and discharge planning; provide patient and family education to support understanding of care.
Requirements
- Active Georgia RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent IMCU/PCU or high-acuity acute care experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Graduation from an accredited RN program
- Ability to work night shift and thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity IMCU/PCU environment
