PRN or Part-Time X-Ray Technologist
The X-ray Technologist will perform high-volume X-ray exams while ensuring patient safety and adherence to radiation protocols. They are also responsible for maintaining radiology equipment, managing inventory, and providing excellent patient care.
· Heavy X-ray volume at a 20-provider practice · Managing an average X-ray volume of 80-100 exams per day, working with fellow X-ray Techs with three machines · Greet patient, escorts patient from clinic room to x-ray room, confirm image to be taken, and explain x-ray procedure to patients · Minimizes radiation to patients and staff by practicing ALARA and verifying exams · Takes x-ray exposures of patients following protocol for position of body, intensity of radiation, and time of exposure · Inspects images to determine they meet FBJ requirements · Maintains equipment and examination room and keeps inventory of related supplies · Ensures operation of radiology equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment by inventories, and evaluating new equipment and techniques · Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislations, anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, advising management of needed actions · Maintains a safe clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations · Gains patient cooperation by reducing anxieties, providing explanations of treatment, and answering questions · Other projects/duties as directed
· ARRT/ADHS AZ licensure is required · Current CPR certification · Knowledge of X-ray procedures and protocols · Knowledge of anatomy and physiology necessary to perform x-ray testing including body mechanics and patient movement · Knowledge of radiology equipment including safety hazards common in radiology · Skill in positioning patients properly · Skill in identifying equipment problems and correcting or notifying supervisor · Exceptional customer service skills · Must believe in a patient-centered approach · Outstanding teamwork attitude · Excellent interpersonal and communication skills · Work at an efficient and fast pace · Must be self-motivated · Ability to stand/walk for much of an 8-10-hour shift · Ability to move equipment and transfer/position patients. · Medical benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days · Paid Time Off (PTO) · Annually, FBJ contributes the equivalent of $448 monthly to each employee’s medical insurance premium to offset the cost · FBJ contributes the entire premium for $50k of group term life insurance · $500 credit to be used at FBJ, if you or your family needs care with us · Positions working less then 40 hrs / week will have pro-rated PTO amounts · Finalization of hiring is contingent on a clear background check.
