We have a great Fulltime opportunity for a Speech Language Pathologist in New Braunfels, Texas.

New Braunfels Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in New Braunfels, Texas is a leading inpatient rehabilitation hospital serving the communities between San Antonio and Austin.

We specialize in helping patients regain strength and independence after life-altering health events such as strokes, brain or spinal cord injuries, complex orthopedic surgeries, and other serious conditions.

Our rehabilitation programs are intensive and tailored – each patient receives a customized mix of physical, occupational, and speech therapies delivered daily by our enthusiastic, highly skilled team As a participating hospital of Ernest Health, we offer robust recognition, wellness, and retention programs.

Qualifications

Required Skills

  • Current and valdi state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist required. Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or Clinical Fellowship Year status or equivalent preferred. Two years’ experience in rehabilitation hospital setting preferred. Current BLS certification from an approved required.

  • Qualifications/Skills: Demonstrates an understanding of treatment costs and financial support as they relate to quality and efficiency. Demonstrates appropriate application of age specific standards, policies and procedures and guidelines in caring for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients Demonstrates competency in the provision of care according to established standards Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures.
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management. Leadership skills in delegating, organizing, and educating coworkers and staff. Effective organizational and time management skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality. Ability to work closely and professionally with others. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.

Responsibilities

Assesses, diagnoses, and treats speech, language, cognitive, communication, voice, swallowing, fluency, and other related disorders. Integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice.

Requirements

Candidates must hold a graduate degree in Speech Language Pathology and possess a current state license. A Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA and BLS certification are required, with preference given to those with two years of experience in a rehabilitation setting.
