About the role

The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for preparing procedure rooms, handling medical instruments, and assisting physicians during endoscopic procedures. They also perform equipment maintenance, specimen processing, and support nursing staff with patient care tasks.

Description Summary/Objective The Endoscopy Technician is responsible for case preparation, assisting with patient preparation, proper handling of instruments supplies and equipment, preparation of the room based upon the specific procedure and physician's preference, and anticipating the physician's needs.

Essential Functions Case preparation, setting up procedure rooms.

Cleaning and routine care and maintenance of endoscopes and equipment.

Proper handling of instruments.

Assisting physicians while performing endoscopic procedures while anticipating the physicians’ need.

Specimen Processing.

Assist nurses in pre and post patient calls Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment This job operates in a professional ambulatory surgery center environment, utilizing standard medical equipment.

Physical Demands The physical demands include standing, walking, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, with an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday. No weekends are required.

Travel No travel is expected for this position.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance Must be authorized to work in the US for any employer

Requirements

Two (2) plus years as Surgical or Endoscopy Technician who is professional, pleasant, flexible, and a motivated team player. Graduate of accredited surgical technician a plus. Experience in a GI or Multi specialty medical environment Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of Medical terminology.
