X-Ray Technologist – Full-Time Flex - Day Shift

Nebraska Health Imaging is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate X-Ray Technologist to join our energetic, patient-focused team at our outpatient imaging center in Omaha, NE. Schedule

  • Day shift, Monday–Wednesday and
  • Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM. Enjoy no call, weekends, or holidays, allowing you to maintain a healthy work-life balance. We’re also open to discussing a part-time opportunity for the right candidate if that better fits your schedule and work-life balance.

This position offers the opportunity to cross-train and assist as an MRI Tech Assistant, providing valuable exposure to another imaging modality. Whether you're interested in expanding your knowledge of MRI, exploring future career opportunities, or simply looking to broaden your skill set, you'll have the chance to learn, grow, and gain experience beyond traditional X-ray responsibilities while working alongside our MRI team.

What You’ll Do As an X-Ray Technologist, you’ll play an important role in delivering safe, accurate, and compassionate care. Working under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, you will: · Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures using established protocols and appropriate imaging techniques. · Prepare, identify, position, and communicate with patients throughout their exams to ensure comfort, safety, and excellent image quality. · Review patient history and physician orders to ensure accurate and appropriate imaging. · Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and others. · Perform venipuncture, maintain IV access, and administer medications as directed and permitted by applicable regulations. · Assist with fluoroscopic, specialized, and interventional radiographic procedures using appropriate aseptic technique. · Maintain exam rooms, equipment, supplies, and digital imaging records to ensure a safe and efficient environment. · Support students and residents through instruction and preceptorship when needed. · Assist other imaging modalities and departments when workload allows. · Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and center-wide activities. · Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION: Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.

Skills/Abilities

Skill in operation of radiographic equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment. Ability to work independently and multitask. Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely. Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology. Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
