About the role

The radiologist will interpret a comprehensive range of body imaging studies and perform non-vascular image-guided procedures across multiple clinical sites. They will also contribute to quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards.

The University of Virginia Health System (UVA Health) is seeking a fellowship-trained Body Imaging Radiologist to join our Community Division.

This role offers the opportunity to practice the full scope of body imaging in a collegial, supportive environment serving Prince William Hospital, Haymarket Medical Center, Culpeper Hospital, Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center and Gainesville Outpatient Imaging Center.

The position combines the advantages of community-based practice with the resources and academic connections of a leading university health system.

The successful candidate will devote approximately 90–95% effort to clinical service and 5–10% to administrative and service activities, with flexibility to adapt as the division evolves.

Clinical Responsibilities Interpret a comprehensive range of Body Imaging studies across all major modalities (plain film, CT, MRI, ultrasound, fluoroscopic GI/GU exams, and non-vascular image-guided procedures).

Refine, expand, and improve clinical services in body imaging and related image-guided procedures.

Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and provide consultative expertise for referring physicians and technical staff.

Collaborate with referring providers to ensure appropriate, high-value use of imaging studies and procedures.

Share in the division’s clinical schedule and call responsibilities, with occasional coverage at the Culpeper Outpatient Imaging Center.

Service & Administrative Responsibilities Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and patient care process enhancements.

Participate in peer review, clinical protocol development, and recruitment/marketing initiatives.

Work collaboratively with technologists, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure high-quality imaging protocols and efficient workflow.

Promote a culture of collegiality, inclusivity, and respect within the Division and across UVA Health.

Support the professional reputation of UVA Radiology in the communities we serve.

Qualifications

M.D. or D.O. degree; board certified/eligible in Diagnostic Radiology. Fellowship training in Body Imaging. Eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate's qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions. Requirements

Candidates must hold an M.D. or D.O. degree and be board certified or eligible in Diagnostic Radiology. Fellowship training in Body Imaging and eligibility for medical licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia are required.
