Under the close supervision of the Program Manager, internship provides supervised practical training experience leading towards certification as a Substance Abuse Counselor in a MAT facility. Under close clinical supervision, completes the education and training necessary to necessary to learn core functions, including, but not limited to screening, intake, orientation, assessment, treatment planning, individual and group counseling, case management, crisis intervention, client education, referral, consultation, and record keeping.
This full-time position is part of a larger interdisciplinary team that provides substance abuse disorder counseling to clients enrolled in the program.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and hold a valid registration as an SUD intern counselor from an approved certifying body. Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage difficult behaviors are required.
