The Cat Scan Technologist is responsible for, selecting proper technical factors for examinations, access IV site and administered the contrast media. Performs Medication Management including storage, rotation and temperature requirements. Prepares oral contrast. Knowledge of PACS, completing and sending images and the scanning of documents. Reconstructs/ post process images according to protocols. Disposes of biomedical waste using CDC and OSHA guidelines. Must follow all Federal, State and hospital health safety codes especially in reference to Radiation, electrical and mechanical safety. Adequately explain procedures to patients. Maintain registration with ARRT including CE credits. Proficient in the use of MediTech (RIS).
Candidates must be graduates of an approved Radiologic Technology program and hold a valid New York State license. Registration or eligibility with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required.
Graduate of an approved school for Radiologic Technology. Licensed for New York State in Radiologic technology including permit for injections. Registered or eligible by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; advanced certification preferred. Understands written and verbal instructions. Manual dexterity for manipulating function of equipment.
