Position Summary

The Laboratory Assistant I is a vital member of the laboratory team, responsible for providing support and assistance in various laboratory activities. This role involves preparing and maintaining equipment, handling specimens and samples, and ensuring the cleanliness and safety of the laboratory environment. The Laboratory Assistant I plays a crucial role in contributing to the success of ongoing research and experiments.

Hours

  • Monday -
  • Friday 2:00
  • PM -10:30 PM

What you will be doing

Receive, label, and properly store specimens and samples according to established protocols.

Prepare samples for analysis, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and dilution as required.

Verification of insurance coverage for specimen processing.

Equipment Preparation

  • 1. Set up and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment for experiments and tests. 2. Ensure that equipment is clean and in working order, reporting any issues to the Laboratory Manager.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of laboratory or similar experience. Proficiency in medical terminology, HIPAA regulations, and coding systems is required.
