About nova iii

The Nova III Program is a Resources for Human Development residential behavioral health program that provides supportive services to individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges. Through person-centered and trauma-informed care, Nova III helps individuals strengthen recovery skills, build community connections, and work toward greater independence and improved quality of life.

What you'll do

As a Direct Support Professional, you will

  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, including meal preparation and household responsibilities
  • Provide supervision, support, and encouragement to individuals working toward recovery goals
  • Help individuals develop skills that improve independence and overall quality of life
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment
  • Support individuals in building relationships and participating in community activities
  • Complete required documentation and service records accurately and on time
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to crisis situations
  • Facilitate and document groups as assigned
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and case consultations
  • Assist with transportation to appointments, community activities, and services
  • Monitor medications as assigned and maintain required documentation
  • Support implementation of treatment plans and service goals
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Basic computer and internet literacy
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and documenting in English
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of or willingness to work with individuals experiencing mental health and substance use challenges
  • Ability to complete required training, including CPR, First Aid, and other assigned trainings
  • Preferred
  • Previous experience in human services, behavioral health, or residential services
  • Experience supporting individuals with mental health and/or substance use challenges
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care practices
  • Experience with group facilitation and documentation
  • Schedule
  • On-Call
  • Flexible scheduling based on program needs
  • Ability to pick up shifts as available
  • Evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required
  • Schedule subject to change based on business needs
  • Physical requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, climb stairs, and drive as needed
  • Ability to transport individuals safely when required
  • Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
