Technologist-Radiology Weekender Days

About the role

The technologist evaluates and assesses patients to develop and implement effective radiology treatment plans. They also provide patient education, contribute to staff development, and ensure high-quality imaging procedures.

Job Summary

Evaluates and assesses patients to establish functional, measurable goals to promote restoration of functional abilities.

Provides treatment according to a written plan of care to meet established goals.

Plans for discharge and communicates findings and progress according to professional licensure/certification, scope of practice and departmental/discipline policies and procedures.

Produces other reports as needed.

May supervise clinical students and support staff including certified/licensed assistants, technicians, and volunteers.

Provides a caring relationship that facilitates health, and healing.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

Evaluates and assesses the patient based on subjective and objective information.

Develops a written plan of care.

Provides treatment according to established goals on plan of care.

Evaluates effectiveness of plan of care. Reassesses patients functional status.

Provides discharge planning information which includes patient/family education, follow-up, and referral to community resources.

Contributes to the development of staff and students.

Participates in activities designed to improve health care delivery.

Completes assigned goals.

Minimum Required Experience

Experience as obtained through the completion of a Radiology Technology Program.

Preferred/Desired Experience

1 year experience in a clinical setting.

Minimum Required Education

Completion of a formal education program in radiography accredited by a mechanism acceptable to ARRT. Registered by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with current Registry in Radiography ARRT(R).

Preferred/Desired Education: Associates degree in related field

Minimum Required Special Skills

Demonstrates a thorough understanding of Radiologic principals/theory. Utilizes the most appropriate technique and positioning for optimal procedures/treatments as demonstrated by procedure/treatment results. Demonstrates ability to receive and follow written and oral instructions; ability to plan and organize work.

Minimum Required Licensure

ARRT (R); BLS Certification within 14 days of hire.

Requirements

Candidates must have completed an accredited radiography program and hold current ARRT(R) registration. A BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire, and one year of clinical experience is preferred.
